I’ve been dabbling in short films and will soon be offering them as an add-on to certain sessions. I am enjoying making these so much and think they are the perfect compliment to a photo session.
Steele: 1 Year Old
Where to even begin? I love this family. They have had a crazy year. The birth of their son coincided with moving to their dream property. They were in a house on the property that was to later become a rental while they did renovations on what is now their main home. I did Steele’s newborn photos out at the rental house and had the pleasure of returning to do his 1 year photos in their newly renovated home. Sarah has AMAZING taste and everything is so beautifully done. She asked me if it was strange to do pictures in Steele’s nursery at 1 year old and my answer was “absolutely NOT!”. I live for these sessions. They finally set up his room the way they like it and I think it’s wonderful to have pictures of this precious guy in there. We finished up the session with some outdoor family shots on their property. Despite it being a gray, cloudy day, it was a wonderful session. They are so wonderful to work with.
Nelson Family
So it turns out I am a terrible blogger. It’s been quite a year here and I’ve added my third child to my personal chaos. Now that we’re almost through her first year I want to make it a goal to be better at maintaining my website and blog. I won’t be able to catch up on all the sessions but I’d like to highlight a few.
I definitely wanted to feature this session with the Nelson family. Their sweet little girl was around 1 and they wanted to document that stage of life with a fun lifestyle session. These are my favorite types of sessions because I think they will be the most nostalgic to look back on. It was fun to capture a piece of their lives, exactly how they were right then. I really enjoyed spending the morning with them.
Rabil Family
I enjoyed meeting this sweet family so much! With two young boys and a little sister, I anticipated a bit of a crazy session but they were all so good and surprised me so much.
Rhudy Family
I had such a fun and relaxed session with the Rhudy family. They were such good sports and let me try all kinds of ideas which made for a really great session.
Lee Family Backyard Session
Earlier in the summer I had a session with the Lee family. They wanted a backyard session at their home and I thought it sounded like a fun challenge. We got some sweet family pictures and then moved onto just letting them have some fun doing their typical things while I documented them. It was so much fun to just watch them play in their element.
Berger Family
Daniela and her family lived in the U.S. when our oldest children were just babies. They moved back to Germany a couple years ago and came recently for a visit. Daniela asked me to do her family’s photos while they were visiting and of course I was thrilled to do so. The kids have grown so much since I last saw them and I had never met their littlest, Leopold, until this visit.
Hope to see you again soon, Bergers!
Nelson Family
Amie and I go way back to when I first moved to North Carolina, about 12 years ago. She and her husband Carl just added a beautiful baby daughter, Evelyn, to their family and I was thrilled when she asked me to photograph their new family of three. I knew it was going to be a fantastic session when she looked up and smiled straight into camera for the very first shot.
Deeter Family
I was so excited when Kaitlyn contacted me about doing some maternity and family photos, and then even more excited when she mentioned the idea of doing them downtown. I’ve never done a family session downtown before but have wanted to. They were the perfect family for this kind of session and even their outfits coordinated perfectly with the vibrant hues of downtown Wilson.
We can’t wait to welcome sweet baby Lucy Kate into the world!
Cain Family
This was my third session with this precious family. I first photographed their maternity and family photos when they were expecting baby Grayson, then got to do his newborn pictures, and now he is 6 months and his big sister is 4. They wanted some updated pictures to celebrate these milestones and I was so excited to document that for them.
