Oh this poor blog has been neglected lately. It’s been a busy time with my pregnancy with my third child, but I’d really like to catch up on blogging some great sessions while I am waiting for my little one to arrive.
Jumping right back in with a senior session. Not just any senior session, but my very own beautiful niece! She’s such a natural model and we had a beautiful day with a great location.
My daughter started Kindergarten this week and my son will start preschool in September. This past month was all about savoring the last bits of summer before ushering in this new season. We hit up the beach, enjoyed some pool time, and visited new places.

This sweet family welcomed a baby boy to their family tree this summer. His big sister was so precious with him and you can just tell they are going to grow up to be great friends.
Earlier in the summer I had a session with the Lee family. They wanted a backyard session at their home and I thought it sounded like a fun challenge. We got some sweet family pictures and then moved onto just letting them have some fun doing their typical things while I documented them. It was so much fun to just watch them play in their element.
Summer is in full swing and we’re soaking it all in before my oldest starts Kindergarten in August. We took a family trip to Williamsburg where the kids enjoyed their first roller coasters and dipped their toes into the James River, got a few pool visits under out belts, and enjoyed the 4th with my brother and his wife when they came down for a visit. I’ll miss the freedom of summer but I’m definitely over the heat, humidity, and bug bites.

It’s been a fun and exciting month. School was wrapped up and we jumped into summer. We’ve already marked the beginning of summer with outdoor adventures, water play, backyard campfires, and my oldest learned how to ride a bike. I don’t think you can get more quintessential summer than that!

Daniela and her family lived in the U.S. when our oldest children were just babies. They moved back to Germany a couple years ago and came recently for a visit. Daniela asked me to do her family’s photos while they were visiting and of course I was thrilled to do so. The kids have grown so much since I last saw them and I had never met their littlest, Leopold, until this visit.

Amie and I go way back to when I first moved to North Carolina, about 12 years ago. She and her husband Carl just added a beautiful baby daughter, Evelyn, to their family and I was thrilled when she asked me to photograph their new family of three. I knew it was going to be a fantastic session when she looked up and smiled straight into camera for the very first shot.
Sarah is in my local MOPs group and won a raffle for a mommy & me mini shoot with me. It worked out perfectly because she needed some updated pictures of her precious daughter, Ella (who’s newborn pictures I happened to have done). The gardens were blooming with these fantastic purple flowers and they just turned out so gorgeous. Ella was so cute and curious and we were able to document the milestone in her life of just beginning to stand and walk on her own.
